Commercial vehicles: frequently asked questions

Is Saga Superior an authorised dealer for all these brands?
Saga Superior (PJ) Sdn. Bhd. is an authorised Daihatsu dealer. We also help businesses buy the other vans, lorries and pick-ups on this page. Warranty terms for each model are set by that brand's Malaysian distributor; ask us how registration, delivery and after-sales work for the model you choose.
Do I need an APAD permit to carry my own goods?
Since 1 April 2026, goods vehicles up to 7,500 kg gross vehicle weight, and pick-ups, are de-controlled vehicles. You can carry your own business goods without an APAD operator's permit. Carrying other people's goods for hire or payment (for example delivery-app work) still needs a Class A carrier permit (Permit A) from APAD.
Which driving licence do I need for a van or light lorry?
A Class D licence covers vans and pick-ups. Under the Ministry of Transport's guidelines, Class D holders may also drive de-controlled goods vehicles with an unladen weight of up to 4,000 kg. Heavier lorries need a Class E licence. Drivers who carry goods or passengers commercially may also need a vocational licence (GDL or PSV); check with JPJ.
Van, lorry or pick-up: which suits my business?
Choose a van if your goods must stay dry and locked (deliveries, tools, catering). Choose a lorry for bigger or heavier loads, or when you need a long box or cargo body. Choose a pick-up for site work, rough roads or bulky items you can tie down. Tell us what you carry and we will recommend a model.
Do you offer financing?
We can assist with financing through our partnering financial institutions. The bank decides the final rate, tenure and approval.
Can you build a custom body on a lorry?
Yes. For Isuzu, JAC and Foton lorries we can arrange an aluminium box, corrugated box, fibre box or wooden cargo body. Tell us the body type and length you need.
Do you deliver outside Petaling Jaya?
Yes. We deliver vehicles across Malaysia, including West and East Malaysia.
