Daihatsu Gran Max Box Van and Luton Van
The Gran Max Box Van and Luton Van are the Gran Max Pick-Up with an enclosed cargo body on the rear deck. The box van costs RM86,602 on the road and the luton van RM87,182. Both use the 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox, and are made to order.

Box van or luton van? The one difference
Both bodies go on the same Gran Max Pick-Up cab and chassis, and both are built to order. The difference is where the body stops: a box van ends behind the driver's cab, a luton van carries on forward over the cab roof.

What is the Gran Max Box Van and Luton Van?
A box van body puts an enclosed cargo box on the Pick-Up's rear deck, so goods stay dry and out of sight. A luton van adds a section that extends forward over the cab roof, giving more load space for the same chassis.
Both appear in Daihatsu's list of Gran Max body applications. The extra space of a luton adds volume, not weight capacity, so it suits bulky but light loads.

Before you order
- Luton or box? The luton costs RM580 more on the road. Choose it if your loads are bulky and light; the box van is enough for most parcels and stock.
- Ask us for the internal size of each body before you order. It decides how many boxes or pallets fit.
- Side door opening: the enclosed body can be built with a side door on one side only, or on both sides (one-door or two-door opening). Tell us which side you load from.
- If you want an enclosed vehicle with an automatic gearbox or sliding side doors, compare the Panel Van.
- The Pick-Up's gross vehicle weight is fixed at 2,100 kg, and the body you choose counts toward it. A heavier body leaves less weight for cargo than a plain steel deck. Your van's registered weights are set at the weighing and inspection, which is already in the OTR price.
- All bodies and custom changes are subject to Daihatsu HQ approval. Tell us your requirements and we submit them.
